627.7019 Standardization of requirements applicable to insurers after natural disasters.—(1) The commission shall adopt by rule, pursuant to s. 120.54(1)-(3), standardized requirements that may be applied to insurers as a consequence of a hurricane or other natural disaster. The rules shall address the following areas:(a) Claims reporting requirements.(b) Grace periods for payment of premiums and performance of other duties by insureds.(c) Temporary postponement of cancellations and nonrenewals.(2) The rules adopted under this section shall require the office to issue an order within 72 hours after the occurrence of a hurricane or other natural disaster specifying, by line of insurance, which of the standardized requirements apply, the geographic areas in which they apply, the time at which applicability commences, and the time at which applicability terminates.(3) Any emergency rule adopted under s. 120.54(4) which is in conflict with any provision of the rules adopted under this section must be by unanimous vote of the commission.History.—s. 24, ch. 2006-12.
