655.51 Employment information.—(1) It is not unlawful for any person to provide employment information to a financial institution or a financial institution regulatory agency, or to any person providing employment information to a financial institution or a financial institution regulatory agency, about an employee’s, or former employee’s, known or suspected involvement in a violation of any state or federal law, rule, or regulation which has been reported to state or federal authorities.(2) A person is not civilly liable for providing such employment information unless the information provided is false and the person providing the information does so with reckless disregard for the truth.History.—s. 1, ch. 89-36; s. 1, ch. 90-192; s. 1, ch. 91-307; ss. 1, 40, ch. 92-303.
