(a) Each constable taking office on or after July 1, 2023, shall: (1) Be at least 21 years of age;(2) Be a citizen of the United States;(3) Be a registered voter; and(4) Have obtained a state accredited high school diploma or general educational development (GED) diploma.(b) Additional qualifications for the office of chief constable or constable or both may be imposed by local law.Amended by 2024 Ga.
