Section 15-6-78 - Veterans not to be charged for recordation of discharge certificates

(a) All clerks of the superior courts are prohibited from charging any veteran a fee for recording his discharge certificate pursuant to Code Section 15-6-72.(b) In all counties where the clerk of a superior court is exclusively on a fee basis, the clerk shall be paid the sum of $1.50 for each discharge certificate recorded by him. This sum is to be paid out of the county treasury by the proper county fiscal authority on the first day of each month, based on the number of discharge certificates filed and recorded by the clerk during the preceding month.
