Section 20-2-1170 - Providing false information to obtain free school meals for child; notice on forms; penalty

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to provide false information on behalf of any school child in order to obtain school meals without charge or at a reduced price for such child or to fail to correct a false impression, if such person knows of such false impression, of an existing fact or set of circumstances which, if not corrected, would otherwise entitle such child to a meal without charge or at a reduced price.(b) The forms used by any county or independent school system for the purpose of determining the qualifications for free school meals or school meals at a reduced price shall include thereon a statement that supplying false information in the completion of such form is a misdemeanor under Georgia law.(c) Any person who shall violate this Code section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
