Section 20-2-2088 - Debts of non-renewed or terminated charter schools

If a charter for a state charter school is not renewed or is terminated, the state charter school shall be responsible for all debts of such school. Neither the state, the State Board of Education, or the commission shall be liable for any debts of the school in the event the charter is not renewed or is terminated. The local school system may not assume the debt from any contract for services made between the governing body of the state charter school and a third party, except for a debt for which the local school system has agreed upon in writing to assume responsibility.Amended by 2012 Ga.
