Section 28-4-5 - Role of Attorney General and the Department of Administrative Services; privilege from disclosure

(a) The Attorney General shall serve as an advisor to the legislative counsel and any individual provided for in Code Section 28-4-5.1 and shall represent the General Assembly and its members, officers, or staff upon request of the legislative counsel or any individual provided for in Code Section 28-4-5.1 unless there is a legal conflict.(b) The Department of Administrative Services may provide contract review and drafting services and other services to the General Assembly upon request by the Office of Legislative Counsel or any individual provided for in Code Section 28-4-5.1.(c) Any communications, records, and work product relating to such advice, communications, and services provided pursuant to this Code section shall not be subject to inspection or disclosure under Article 4 of Chapter 18 of Title 50 or any other law or under any judicial process. Such privilege from disclosure shall be in addition to any other constitutional, statutory, or common law privilege.Amended by 2024 Ga. Laws 609,§ 4-4, eff. 5/6/2024.
