As used in this chapter, the term:(1) 'Hospital' shall have the same meaning as provided in Code Section 31-6-2.(2) 'Hospital campus' and 'campus' mean the grounds and buildings owned or occupied by a hospital. Such term shall also include any public or private property within 100 yards of the hospital campus and such portions of any public street or public sidewalk located on a hospital campus or immediately adjacent thereto.(3) 'Hospital peace officer' means an employee of a hospital whose duties include the enforcement of the laws of this state; the preservation of public order; the protection of life and property; the prevention, detection, or investigation of crime; or any combination thereof.Added by 2023 Ga.
