Section 31-8-111 - Rights as citizen

Each resident shall be encouraged and assisted by the facility to exercise all rights, benefits, and privileges as a citizen including, but not limited to, the following:(1) The right to vote. Residents who are eligible to vote shall have the right to vote in primary, special, and general elections and in referendums. The facility shall permit and reasonably assist residents to obtain voter registration forms, applications for absentee ballots, and absentee ballots and to comply with other requirements which are prerequisites for voting;(2) The right to free exercise of religion as well as freedom from imposition of religious beliefs or practices;(3) The right to associate, meet, and communicate privately with persons of the resident's choice; and(4) The right to participate, inside and outside the facility, in social, family, religious, and community group activities.Amended by 2012 Ga.
