Section 37-11-15 - Application; usage of form; use of substantially similar forms

(a) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to or invalidate a valid psychiatric advance directive executed prior to July 1, 2022.(b) The use of the form set forth in Code Section 37-11-16 or a similar form after July 1, 2022, in the creation of a psychiatric advance directive shall be deemed lawful and, when such form is used and it meets the requirements of this chapter, it shall be construed in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.(c) Any person may use another form for a psychiatric advance directive so long as the form is substantially similar to, otherwise complies with the provisions of this chapter, and provides notice to a declarant substantially similar to that contained in the form set forth in Code Section 37-11-16. As used in this subsection, the term 'substantially similar' may include forms from other states.Added by 2022 Ga. Laws 836,§ 1-1, eff. 7/1/2022.
