Section 37-4-64 - Procedure upon discovery that a client receiving court ordered services from a Georgia facility is not a resident

If a client who is a resident in a facility is discovered not to be a resident of Georgia, the regional state hospital administrator of the facility in which the client is a resident shall seek his transfer to the custody of authorities of the state of his residence or to a publicly owned or publicly operated facility in that state. This Code section shall not apply to persons who are in residence at any facility operated by or under the control of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs or any other federal agency.Amended by 2002 Ga.
