Section 40-5-86 - Reduction of point count upon completion of course

Upon the accumulation of points pursuant to Code Section 40-5-57, the total number of points accumulated by any driver shall be reduced by seven points, but to not less than zero points, upon the satisfactory completion by such driver of a defensive driving course approved by the department and the submission of a certificate by such driver to the department. The provisions of this Code section shall be available one time only to each driver in any five-year period.Amended by 2014 Ga. Laws 624,§ 1-18, eff. 7/1/2014.Amended by 2003 Ga.
