(a) The Secretary of State may assess civil penalties against any individual or entity that he or she finds to have violated this chapter in an amount of up to $1,000.00 per violation not to exceed $50,000.00. A civil penalty assessed pursuant to this Code section shall be in addition to any other appropriate civil or criminal penalties.(b) Any person that suffers injuries or damages as a result of the unlawful practice of immigration assistance shall have a cause of action against the person or entity that provided the unlawful immigration assistance.(c) The Secretary of State shall issue rules and regulations not inconsistent with this chapter for the implementation, administration, and enforcement of this chapter.Added by 2008 Ga.
