Section 49-2-18 - Director of Division of Family and Children Services; appointment; qualifications

(a) The Governor shall appoint the director of the Division of Family and Children Services of the department who shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor. The director shall be an employee of the department but shall report directly to the Governor.(b) The director shall have a college degree and at least one of the following qualifications: (1) Educational background or managerial experience involving work with vulnerable populations;(2) Work experience in a setting dealing with the safety or well-being of children or other vulnerable populations; or(3) Experience working in or managing a complex, multidisciplinary business or government agency.Added by 2015 Ga.
