Section 50-12-42 - Purpose of article

The purpose of this article is:(1) To promote the health and physical fitness of the citizens of this state;(2) To promote participation in amateur sports by citizens of all ages and skill levels;(3) To promote a state-wide program of amateur athletic competition, culminating in state championship competitions; and(4) To promote state, national, and international amateur sports through the establishment of Olympic training facilities within the state.
