Definition . As used in this Chapter: (a) Cosmetic establishment shall mean any premises or portions thereof, wherein any of the following is practiced for compensation: (1) shaving, clipping, trimming or cutting human hair; (2) singeing, shampooing, arranging, adorn ing, dressing, curling, waving, perma nent waving, tinting, applying tonic to or dyeing human hair; (3) giving facial , scalp, neck or body massages or treatments with oils, creams, lotions or other prepara tions either by hand or mechanical appli ances; (4) applying cosmetic preparations, antisep tics, powders, oils, clays, lotions or other prepara tions to scalp, face, neck or hands; or (5) manicuring or pedicuring. No employer , owner, manag er or person in charge or control shall permit any person to work in a cosmetic establishment knowing such person to have or having rea son to believe that he has a disease in communicable form or is a carrier of such dis ease; and no person shall ny person to work in a cosmetic establishment knowing such person to have or having rea son to believe that he has a disease in communicable form or is a carrier of such dis ease; and no person shall work in a cosmetic establishment, whether in his own or another's employ , knowing himself to have or having reason to believe that he has any su ch disease or is a carrier of any disease. If an employer, owner, manager or person in charge or control suspects that any employer has any such disease in a communicable form, or is a carrier of such disease, he shall notify the Director immedi - ately . No person having any such disease in communi cable form shall be served or receive any treat ment in any cosmetic establishment. SOURCE: GC§ 9570.1. § 27103. Plans and Specifications.
