§457G-1.4 License required. (a) Except as specifically provided in this chapter, no person shall engage in the practice of occupational therapy or use the title 'licensed occupational therapist' or 'occupational therapist' without a valid license to practice occupational therapy issued pursuant to this chapter. (b) Except as specifically provided in this chapter, no person shall engage in the practice of occupational therapy as an occupational therapy assistant or use the title 'licensed occupational therapy assistant' or 'occupational therapy assistant' unless: (1) The practice is performed under the supervision of and in partnership with a person who is an occupational therapist licensed to practice occupational therapy in the State; and (2) The person possesses a valid license issued pursuant to this chapter to practice occupational therapy as an occupational therapy assistant. (c) Any person who violates this section shall be subject to a fine of not more than $1,000 per violation. [L 2014, c 209, pt of §2; am L 2015, c 35, §17]
