§459-1.5 Definitions. As used in this chapter: 'Board' means the Hawaii board of optometry. 'Director' means the director of commerce and consumer affairs. 'Ophthalmic lens' means any spectacle lens that has a spherical, cylindrical, or prismatic power or value and is ground pursuant to a prescription. 'Surgery' means any procedure in which human tissue is cut, altered, or otherwise infiltrated by mechanical or laser means.
