A probation officer may not carry a handgun in any vehicle or on or about the probation officer's body while acting in the scope of employment as a probation officer unless all of the following conditions are met:(1) The appointing court enters an order authorizing the probation officer to carry the handgun while on duty.(2) The probation officer successfully completes a handgun safety course certified by the law enforcement training board under IC 5-2-1-9(n).As added by P.L.45-2001, SEC.2.
