§ 12-23-13-2

It is lawful to prescribe, dispense, or administer controlled substances for the treatment of drug abuse if the following conditions are met:(1) The controlled substances are used for the treatment or maintenance of a drug abuser.(2) The treatment or maintenance is medically indicated.(3) The treatment or maintenance is prescribed by a physician as a part of a rehabilitation program approved by the director and dispensed in compliance with the regulations for the dispensing of controlled substances.[Pre-1992 Revision Citation: 16-13-6.1-26.]As added by P.L.2-1992, SEC.17.
