§ 14-22-34-1

(a) As used in this chapter, 'endangered species' means any species or subspecies of wildlife whose prospects of survival or recruitment within Indiana are in jeopardy or are likely within the foreseeable future to become so due to any of the following factors:(1) The destruction, drastic modification, or severe curtailment of the habitat of the wildlife.(2) The overutilization of the wildlife for scientific, commercial, or sporting purposes.(3) The effect on the wildlife of disease, pollution, or predation.(4) Other natural or manmade factors affecting the prospects of survival or recruitment within Indiana.(5) Any combination of the factors described in subdivisions (1) through (4).(b) The term includes any species or subspecies of fish and wildlife appearing on the United States list of endangered and threatened wildlife (50 CFR 17.11).[Pre-1995 Recodification Citation: 14-2-8.5-1(c).]As added by P.L.1-1995, SEC.15.
