§ 15-17-5-6

(a) A person may not do the following:(1) Slaughter livestock or poultry or prepare any meat products or poultry products that are capable of use as human food for commerce, except in compliance with this chapter.(2) Sell, transport, offer for sale or transportation, or receive for transportation in commerce any meat products or poultry products that are:(A) capable of use as human food and are adulterated or misbranded; or(B) required to be inspected under this chapter unless the products have been inspected and passed.(3) With respect to articles that are capable of use as human food, perform an act:(A) while the articles are being transported in commerce or held for sale after transportation in commerce; and(B) that is intended to cause or has the effect of causing the articles to be adulterated or misbranded.(b) A person may not sell, transport, offer for sale or transportation, or receive for transportation, in commerce, or from an official establishment, slaughtered poultry from which the blood, feathers, feet, head, or viscera have not been removed in accordance with rules adopted by the board except as authorized by rule.[Pre-2008 Recodification Citation:
