It is the purpose of this chapter to provide for the organization of public schools in Indiana to:(1) promote the best interests of the students of Indiana;(2) provide for the organization of additional forms of local school government;(3) preserve and ensure an economical and efficient school system in accordance with the desires of the people in local communities; and(4) improve the education of the students of Indiana as guaranteed by the laws and Constitution of the State of Indiana.[Pre-2005 Elementary and Secondary Education Recodification Citation: 20-4-8-1.]As added by P.L.1-2005, SEC.7.
