§ 20-26-7-41

A township trustee may, whenever:(1) a schoolhouse is removed to a different location or a new one erected for the school in a different place; and(2) the land where the schoolhouse is situated belongs unconditionally to the township, town, or city;sell the land, if the trustee believes it is advantageous to the township, town, or city to do so. The township trustee shall sell the land for the highest price that can be obtained for the land. Upon payment of the purchase money to the township, town, or city, the township trustee shall execute to the purchaser a deed of conveyance, which must be sufficient to vest in the purchaser the title the township, town, or city has to the land.
