(a) Each approved postsecondary educational institution shall adopt a policy to increase awareness of suicide prevention resources available to students and staff, including:(1) crisis intervention resources, including information for national, state, and local suicide prevention hotlines;(2) available mental health programs;(3) programs or resources offering information on crisis hotlines and suicide warning signs;(4) educational and outreach activities related to suicide prevention;(5) postintervention plans, including information on effective communication with students, staff, and parents after the loss of a student or faculty member due to suicide; and(6) mental health services and other support services, including student organizations.(b) Links to information and resources identified in a policy described in subsection (a) shall be posted on the Internet web site of each approved postsecondary educational institution.As added by P.L.254-2017, SEC.7.
