(2) Laboratories that are:(A) operated by a college, university, school, or other educational entity for the purpose of instruction or research; and(B) approved by the department under the alternative criteria established by the commission in the rules.(b) The commission may:(1) apply different rules to the manufacture of regulated explosives (as defined in IC 35-47.5-2-13) in a laboratory described in subsection (a) than apply to other places where regulated explosives (as defined in IC 35-47.5-2-13) are manufactured; and(2) adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to exempt laboratories described in subsection (a) from the regulated explosive magazines permit requirement under IC 35-47.5-4.As added by P.L.245-1987, SEC.2.
