As used in this chapter, 'security freeze' means a designation placed on a consumer's consumer report:(1) by a consumer reporting agency; and(2) at the request of the consumer;that prohibits the consumer reporting agency from releasing the consumer report without the authorization of the consumer.As added by P.L.104-2007, SEC.1.
