The judge shall:(1) issue a notice of the filing and pendency of the petition to:(A) each candidate named in the petition;(B) the county election board; and(C) the election division if the petition relates to a recount for the office of judge or prosecuting attorney; and(2) deliver the notice to the sheriff of each county in which a candidate resides.(b) Each sheriff shall immediately serve the notice upon candidates in person or by leaving a copy at the last and usual place of residence.
