Whenever a tie vote at an election for:(1) a state office;(2) a local office; or(3) a school board office;occurs, the incumbent public official remains in office in accordance with Article 15, Section 3 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana until a successor is elected under this chapter and qualified.[Pre-1986 Recodification Citations: Ind.
