Except as provided in section 7 of this chapter, an individual is considered to have resigned as:(1) a government employee when the individual assumes an elected office of the unit that employs the individual; or(2) an elected official of the unit when the individual becomes a government employee of the unit.As added by P.L.135-2012, SEC.1.
