(a) The department shall approve a request made under this chapter if:(1) the child lived with the individual making the request in the eighteen (18) months preceding the request; and(2) the child lived with the individual making the request for:(A) at least six (6) months in any one (1) calendar year; or(B) more than one-half (1/2) of the days the child lived in the calendar year if the child was born or died in the calendar year.(b) If the department approves a request, the department shall:(1) provide the child's Social Security number to the individual; and(2) notify the parents of the child that the child's Social Security number has been disclosed under this chapter if parental rights for the child have not been terminated.As added by P.L.77-2023, SEC.7.
