§ 34-38-2-1

(a) This section applies to the following:(1) The printed statute books of the several states and territories of the United States, purporting to be printed under the authority of those states and territories.(2) A copy of any statute or any part of a statute contained in a statute book described in subdivision (1) that is accompanied by the certificate of the secretary of state, under seal of the state, certifying that:(A) the copy is complete and correct;(B) the statute book from which the copy is taken is deposited in the office of the secretary or in the state library; and(C) the secretary of state believes the book was received under the authority of the state or territory purporting to have enacted the statutes.(b) A statute book, a copy of a statute, or a copy of part of a statute described in subsection (a) is presumptive evidence in all courts of public or private legislative acts of the state or territory purporting to have enacted the statute.[Pre-1998 Recodification Citation: 34-1-17-2.]As added by P.L.1-1998, SEC.34.
