'Participate', for purposes of IC 34-28-3, means any action a person takes:(1) according to license or authority of the entity that sanctions a professional automobile or motorcycle racing event; or(2) by direction or authority of the race organizer of a sanctioned event;including participation as a driver, mechanic, pit crew member, or unpaid volunteer in and around the pit and race track area.[Pre-1998 Recodification Citation: 34-4-44.2-5.]As added by P.L.1-1998, SEC.1.
