§ 36-2-1-6

(a) The executive of a county from which territory is detached shall procure a suitable book and order the recorder of the county to copy in it, from the records in the recorder's office, all deeds and mortgages of real property in the detached territory that have been recorded.(b) The copies made under subsection (a) shall be filed with the recorder of the county to which the territory is attached.
