§ 36-7-4-1201

A township may join a municipality that has an advisory plan commission and has adopted zoning and subdivision control ordinances, if any part of the township is contiguous to:(1) a corporate boundary of the municipality;(2) an area over which the municipality is exercising planning and zoning authority; or(3) a township that has joined the municipality under the 1200 series of this chapter.Although no part of the township is contiguous to the municipality, a township may join a municipality that has an advisory plan commission and has adopted zoning and subdivision control ordinances, if the municipality is the county seat of the county in which the township is located.[Pre-Local Government Recodification Citations: 18-7-4-1201; 18-7-6-1.]As added by Acts 1981, P.L.309, SEC.23.
