§ 36-7-4-1204

Upon the receipt of a petition for joinder from a township, the municipal plan commission shall consider the petition. If the commission is favorable to it, it shall recommend joinder to the municipal legislative body. If the legislative body is favorable, it shall pass a resolution setting forth the terms of the joinder, send one (1) copy to the township executive, and file one (1) copy with the county recorder, which copy shall be filed in the miscellaneous records.
