1, after the effective date of the consolidation the township may not establish a fire protection territory under this chapter.(b) A fire protection territory that is established before the effective date of the consolidation in a township in which the township's fire department is consolidated under IC 36-3-1-6.1 becomes part of the geographic area in which the fire department of a consolidated city provides fire protection services.As added by P.L.227-2005, SEC.51.
