(a) The attorney general has the same authority as a law enforcement agency (as defined in IC 35-47-15-2) to:(1) access (as defined in IC 35-43-2-3); and(2) maintain;information regarding a violation of IC 35-42-3.5-1 through IC 35-42-3.5-1.4 (human trafficking).(b) The attorney general may assist with the investigation and prosecution of an alleged violation of IC 35-42-3.5-1 through IC 35-42-3.5-1.4 (human trafficking). However, the attorney general does not have the power to arrest or criminally prosecute individuals for a violation of IC 35-42-3.5-1 through IC 35-42-3.5-1.4.As added by P.L.162-2014, SEC.1.
