§ 7-1-3-1-7-2

(a) Notwithstanding any other law, a person at least eighteen (18) years of age may work as a waiter or waitress on the licensed premises of a retailer permittee without having attended a server program or obtained a server certificate or employee permit if all of the following requirements are met:(1) The licensed premises is a restaurant operated by an accredited hospitality management program primarily for educational purposes.(2) The person is a student enrolled in a:(A) state educational institution; and(B) course offered by the accredited hospitality management program.(3) The licensed premises, state educational institution, or accredited hospitality management program does not pay the person to work at the licensed premises.(4) The person works under the supervision of an instructor employed by the state educational institution.(b) This section does not permit a person to work as a bartender.As added by P.L.191-2018, SEC.2.
