(b) An individual applying for a National Guard license plate under this chapter as a current member of the National Guard must demonstrate the individual's status as a current member of the Army or Air National Guard by presenting the following with the individual's application:(1) A current United States armed forces identification card.(2) A letter signed by the individual's commanding officer identifying the individual as a current active member.(c) An individual applying for a National Guard license plate under this chapter as a former member of the National Guard must present with the individual's application a copy of the individual's:(1) National Guard Bureau Form 22 or 22A showing the individual received an honorable or general under honorable conditions discharge; or(2) National Guard Bureau Form 23D or 23E showing the individual as retired;as proof of the individual's status as a former member of the Army or Air National Guard.[Pre-2016 Revision Citation: 9-18-20-3.]As added by P.L.198-2016,
