§ 9-20-8-1

(a) This section applies to a motor vehicle designed and used to carry more than seven (7) persons, operated either:(1) wholly within the boundaries of cities and towns; or(2) between contiguous cities and towns;located in counties having a population of at least one hundred sixty thousand (160,000).(b) If federal statutes and regulations permit the operation of passenger buses of widths greater than eight (8) feet on an interstate highway, the Indiana department of transportation may, by adopting rules consistent with the federal statute or regulation, permit the operation of passenger buses of a total outside width, exclusive of safety equipment, of not more than eight (8) feet, six (6) inches, on a highway.[Pre-1991 Recodification Citation: 9-8-2-1.]As added by P.L.2-1991, SEC.8.
