Notwithstanding IC 9-20-3, a motor vehicle designed and used for hauling other motor vehicles may transport loads consisting of equipment designed to convert trucks, the weight of which does not exceed eleven thousand (11,000) pounds, into vehicles equipped with living quarters for persons traveling upon the highways.
