8A.401 Definitions. As used in this subchapter, unless the context otherwise requires: 1. 'Appointing authority' means the chairperson or person in charge of any state agency including, but not limited to, boards, bureaus, commissions, and departments, or an employee designated to act for an appointing authority. 2.
