97B.1 System created — organizational definitions. 1. The 'Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System' is established as an independent agency within the executive branch of state government. The Iowa public employees’ retirement system shall administer the retirement system established under this chapter. 2. As used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise: a. 'Board' means the investment board created by section 97B.8A. b. 'Chief executive officer' means the chief executive officer of the Iowa public employees’ retirement system. c. 'Committee' means the benefits advisory committee created by section 97B.8B. d. 'System' means the Iowa public employees’ retirement system.
