135.179 Fulfilling Iowa’s need for dentists. 1. The department, in cooperation with a dental nonprofit health service corporation, shall create the fulfilling Iowa’s need for dentists matching grant program. 2. Funding for the program may be provided through the health care workforce shortage fund or the fulfilling Iowa’s need for dentists matching grant program account created in section 135.175. The purpose of the program is to establish, expand, or support the placement of dentists in dental or rural shortage areas across the state by providing education loan repayments. 3. The department shall contract with a dental nonprofit health service corporation to implement and administer the program. The dental nonprofit health service corporation shall provide loan repayments to dentists who practice in a dental or rural shortage area as defined by the department. 2014 Acts, ch 1106, §10 Referred to in §135.175
