147.162 Rules and directives relating to opioids. 1. Any board created under this chapter that licenses a prescribing practitioner shall adopt rules under chapter 17A establishing penalties for prescribing practitioners that prescribe opioids in dosage amounts exceeding what would be prescribed by a reasonably prudent prescribing practitioner engaged in the same practice. 2. For the purposes of this section, 'prescribing practitioner' means a licensed health care professional with the authority to prescribe prescription drugs including opioids. 2018 Acts, ch 1138, §21
