149.3 License. Every applicant for a license to practice podiatry shall: 1. Be a graduate of an accredited school of podiatry. 2. Present an official transcript issued by a school of podiatry approved by the board. 3. Pass an examination as determined by the board by rule. 4. a. For an applicant who graduates from a school of podiatry on or after January 1, 1995, have successfully completed a residency approved by the council on podiatric medical education as determined by the board by rule, except as provided in paragraph 'b'. b. (1) For an applicant who graduates from a school of podiatry on or after January 1, 2013, present evidence that the applicant has successfully completed two years of a residency approved by the council on podiatric medical education. (2) As part of the initial license renewal, a licensee pursuant to this paragraph shall provide documentation showing completion of a residency program approved by the council on podiatric medical education.
