154G.2 Practice or use of title. 1. A person shall not profess to be a music therapist or board-certified music therapist or use the initials 'MT-BC' or any other words, letters, abbreviations, or insignia indicating or implying that the person is a music therapist unless the person holds and maintains the music therapist board-certified credential granted by the certification board for music therapists. 2. This chapter does not prohibit a person from using music in the performance of the person’s profession or occupation if the person does not represent that the person is a music therapist. 3. A person who recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally violates this section is guilty of a simple misdemeanor. 2021 Acts, ch 118, §2
