§ 357a-1

357A.1 Definitions. As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires: 1. 'Auditor' means the county auditor of a county in which a district has been incorporated and organized or is proposed to be incorporated and organized. 2. 'Board' means the board of directors of a district, and 'director' means a member of such board of directors. 3. 'Department' means the department of natural resources. 4. 'District' means a rural water district incorporated and organized pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. 5. 'Member' means an owner of real property which is located within a district, the tenant of the real property, or another person acting for the owner with the owner’s written consent. 6. 'Participating member' means a member who has subscribed to and paid the established fee for at least one benefit unit in a district, in the manner provided by this chapter. 7. 'Rural water association' or 'association' means a rural water association organized and incorporated as a cooperative association under chapter 499 or as a nonprofit corporation under chapter 504. 8. 'Supervisors' means the board of supervisors of a county, or the board of supervisors of an adjacent
