199.13 Penalty. A violation of this chapter is a simple misdemeanor. The department may institute criminal or civil proceedings in a court of competent jurisdiction to enforce this chapter. When in the performance of the secretary’s duties in enforcing this chapter the secretary applies to a court for a temporary or permanent injunction restraining a person from violating or continuing to violate any of the provisions of this chapter or rules adopted under this chapter, the injunction is to be issued without bond and the person restrained by the injunction shall pay the costs made necessary by the procedure.
